The bill, which passed its first reading in early July, stipulates a maximum sentence of 7 years imprisonment for organizing illegal cryptocurrency circulation. The related penalty provisions are scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2027. Anatoly Aksakov denied that the bill would affect cryptocurrency exchanges and P2P users. The Russian government's 'Digital Currency and Digital Rights Law' has also been delayed.
