AI inference startup General Compute has secured a $400 million loan from Upper90, marking the first financing transaction using inference specific chips as collateral. General Compute uses SambaNova ASIC chips to build a dedicated cloud platform and completed a $15 million seed round financing in May. By deploying in existing data centers, including encrypted mining facilities, it provides faster token processing speeds and lower latency than traditional GPU clouds.
