According to Cointelegraph, Consensys introduced a software developer through a third-party service provider earlier this year who has ties to North Korea and has approximately one month of system access under the pseudonym Tyler Knapp. Consensus General Counsel Matt Corva stated that the developer is not an employee of Consensus. Upon discovering the threat, the company immediately terminated access and launched an investigation to confirm that no assets or data were stolen, no malicious code was deployed, and user security was not affected. Consensys will reassess outsourcing practices for engineering and development work.
