According to DigitalToday, KISA and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Information Communications launched the deposit token payment infrastructure expansion project, expanding the achievements of Project Hangang into the field of private payment. The project is supervised by the Financial Settlement Institute, with the participation of 9 banks, 8 payment gateways, and 2 large demanders, with a total budget of 9.6 billion Korean won. The project utilizes the existing payment system, where users make payments through a bank deposit token wallet, and merchants do not need to change terminals. The government plans to pilot the use of deposit tokens for official travel expenses and explore a treasury fund management model linked with dBrain.
